Prepare an agent-to-lender introduction
Use this checklist before introducing a buyer or writing an offer. Agree on the buyer’s goal and permission to connect, then bring the open financing questions to the loan officer. It is a conversation aid, not a preapproval.
- Buyer goal and timing. Note the intended move, target area, decision deadline, and payment range the buyer wants to discuss.
- Cash readiness. Identify whether the buyer needs help estimating cash to close, sale proceeds, gifts, or assistance. Do not collect account details here.
- Property questions. Flag occupancy, property type, condition, insurance, and known repairs for lender review.
- Communication permission. Confirm how the buyer wants to be contacted and what updates the agent may receive.
- Offer checkpoints. List financing deadlines and who will confirm the next step before the offer is submitted.
Write down what you know, mark what still needs verification and avoid including Social Security numbers, account numbers or other sensitive financial information.
